Charles participated in a “Workshop on The European Spallation Source (ESS) – from the strategy to action”, organized by the Swedish Research Council  in Stockholm on November 21, 2016. One of the central things discussed was how “citizen value”, e.g. in the form of innovations, can be captured from large research infrastructures such as the ESS and MAX IV, located in Lund, Sweden.
