The Swedish National Innovation Council organized a number of presentations in Almedalen in Visby on the Island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea. Charles was speaking about how to develop a “Holistic Innovation Policy” on July 6, 2017. Other speakers were Jane Walerud, Helen Hellmark Knutsson and Mikael Damberg.

The Swedish National Innovation Council had a meeting on August 28, 2017 at Rosenbad, Stockholm. The topics discussed were:

• The global links of the Swedish National Innovation System
• How the “Collaboration programs” can contribute to solving societal challenges
• Public financing of innovative entrepreneurship
• The National forestry programme
