A National Innovation Campaign to rekindle the innovation spirit in Mauritius was launched in 2021. As part of this campaign “The National Innovation Challenge (NIC)” is an initiative approved by the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC) and by the Cabinet.

As a part of this initiative, a conference “Les Assises de la Recherche et de L’Innovation” will be held in Mauritius on April 27 – 29, 2022. Charles Edquist has been invited to this conference to serve as a Keynote Speaker and Innovation Leader. He will:

  • Give his keynote address on day one, with the title “Holistic Innovation Policy – from a global perspective”
  • Comment on the presentations on sectoral forums (day 2), and
  • Participate in an interactive innovation expert round table concluding session (day 3)

The conference programme as a whole can be found here.

In addition to these contributions to Les Assises, Charles will stay in Mauritius some extra days to serve as a consultant.

All these activities are related to the vision held by Mauritian Government to build ”an economy in the league of high-income countries, driven by technology and innovation and bringing higher levels of growth, equality and shared prosperity.”
