The Italian Presidency of the EU Council organized a meeting of Health Ministers in Milan on September 21-22. A conference was held on “Innovative Systems and Health Horizons”. At this event, Charles gave a Keynote speech on the health innovation system and the role of innovative public procurement.

Charles participated in a panel discussion in a Seminar on University Rankings organized by CIRCLE and Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum in Lund on September 1, 2014.
On August 29, 2014, Charles made a presentation entitled “Public procurement and innovation – Obstacles and how to overcome them” at a seminar on innovation procurement at The Swedish Energy Agency, Stockholm. The presentation was based on the report that he has written for the Swedish Competition Agency.
Charles participated in the 2014 STEPI International Symposium on May 15, 2014 in Seoul. The theme this year was ‘Revisiting NIS in the Creative Economy’.
